What sizes are available?

For Horses & Livestock

• Large Horse/Draft Size — Ideal for horses 15.1 hands and up

• Average Horse/Pony Size — Ideal for horses 15 hands and smaller

• Mini Size — Perfect for miniature horses, goats, sheep, or other small livestock

For Dogs

• Available in standard wire crate sizes XS through 3XL

Custom dimensions for kennels, cages, or specialty uses are also available upon request.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is always free within the contiguous United States.

Is PasturePuff suitable for horses with shoes?
Yes! PasturePuff mattresses are tested with both barefoot and shod horses. For best results, ensure shoes are properly fitted with no excessively protruding nails.

Will the mattress get slippery when wet?
No. The The XPac® surface retains excellent traction even when wet, providing a safe, stable footing for animals standing or lying down.

Is it waterproof or water-resistant?
PasturePuff mattresses are fully waterproof.

Each mattress is engineered with:

• A heavy-duty laminated waterproof barrier that maintains its integrity over time

• A locking, double-layered YKK® zipper with protective storm flap to guard against leaks

• Seam-sealed construction at every join

Even after years of heavy use, the waterproof layer and sealed zipper system prevent moisture from reaching the foam core.

Can it be used both indoors and outdoors?
Yes! PasturePuff can be used in stalls, turnout shelters, barns, kennels, trailers, or outdoor areas.

My horse or dog is very destructive - will it last?
PasturePuff is crafted to endure. Its premium XPac® fabric is engineered for extreme durability and has stood up to pawing, chewing, digging, and even the wear of shod hooves and high-drive working dogs in demanding environments.

And we stand behind that strength. Every PasturePuff includes our Chew- / Paw- / Hoof-Proof Guarantee — if your horse or dog damages the cover under normal use, we’ll replace it at no cost.

For the rare accidental puncture, we include bonding tape so you can make quick, on-the-spot repairs and keep your PasturePuff in service without downtime.

How long does the foam last?
PasturePuff uses dual-density orthopedic memory foam rated to maintain its integrity for a decade. Unlike cheaper options that flatten or lump, our foam resists sagging and keeps its supportive shape year after year.

Chew-/Paw-/Hoof-Proof Guarantee
If your horse or dog chews or paws through the cover, we’ll replace it at no cost. This applies to normal use with animals and demonstrates our confidence in the toughness of PasturePuff’s XPac® construction. See the FAQ for more details under the “Special Warranty & Guarantee” section.

2-Year Craftsmanship Warranty
We stand behind the quality of our materials and construction. If your PasturePuff cover fails due to a workmanship or material defect within two years of purchase, we’ll replace it free of charge.

10-Year Foam Integrity Warranty
Our orthopedic dual-density foam is engineered for long-lasting support. We guarantee that it will not compress more than ¼ inch (6 mm) under normal use for ten years from the date of purchase. If the foam fails to meet this standard, we’ll replace it.

What’s Covered vs. Not Covered

✔ Covered:

• Stitching, seams, or zipper failures due to workmanship

• Waterproof barrier failure under normal use

• First instance of chew or paw damage through the cover

✘ Not Covered:

• Multiple chew/paw incidents — We’ll cover the first one at no cost, but ongoing or repeated chewing may fall outside the guarantee. Please contact us for alternative options if this is a concern.

• Damage from misuse or alterations.

• Normal wear and tear over many years (light scuffs, surface abrasions)

For Accidental Cuts:
Sharp objects such as sharp rocks, knives and scissors can puncture the bedding surface. Each PasturePuff comes with repair tape so you can quickly seal small cuts yourself. These types of incidents are not covered under warranty, but the repair is simple and maintains full waterproof performance.

How to Activate Your Warranty

1. Contact us with photos of the issue and proof of purchase.

2. Our team will review your claim (sometimes requesting additional photos).

3. When approved, we’ll ship a replacement cover or mattress at no cost (US contiguous).

Is PasturePuff safe for senior horses or older pets?
Absolutely. Senior horses and aging dogs especially benefit from PasturePuff's orthopedic support, which eases joint strain and adds stability when standing up or lying down.

Will my horse, livestock, or dog use it right away?
Some will immediately, while others may take time.

Tips to encourage use by horses:

• Walk horses over it like a tarp or bridge.

• Place it where they eat or sleep.

• Scatter familiar bedding (like shavings) on top initially, then gradually remove.

Patience is key! Many animals will adopt it naturally once they associate it with comfort.

Does standing on it make horses or livestock tired?
No. PasturePuff lets animals choose when to stand or rest. The premium memory foam won’t compress or get lumpy, so support stays consistent for years.

Will animals slip on it, especially when wet?
No. The XPac® surface retains traction even in damp conditions, providing secure footing for horses, dogs, and livestock. Whether standing, shifting, or lying down, they can move with confidence and stability.

Is it safe for animals with medical conditions?
Yes. PasturePuff was originally designed for horses with laminitis, where stable, cushioned footing is essential. Its therapeutic support also benefits animals with arthritis, joint soreness, or chronic pain by reducing stress on hooves, legs, and joints.

What happens if my animal urinates or defecates on it?
It’s no problem. The fully waterproof surface:

• Prevents any liquid absorption into the foam core

• Allows for effortless cleanup with a broom, hose, or even a blower

Is it machine washable?
No — and it doesn’t need to be. PasturePuff mattresses are built for in-place cleaning. Simply wipe down, hose off, or rinse as needed. The cover is never removed, so care is quick, simple, and reliable.

Can I use disinfectants?
Yes. PasturePuff is compatible with common veterinary-safe disinfectants, making it suitable for clinical and kennel environments. You can disinfect thoroughly without compromising the integrity of the fabric or seams.
